A lot of people use the scanner in order to have all their documents on the computer, for storing them easier or for safe keeping. But most of the times, when a user scans a document, the result is not how he would like it to be, as the edges of the document are black, due to the poor scanner performance. This problem can take up ink when the document is printed on paper again, so it should be fixed. Windows doesn't allow this, so the only thing left to do is to turn to 3rd party applications. Programs like Imaging Express are really useful in this case.

This is a Windows application that can open and edit any image file and it's specially useful for detecting the black edges of scanned documents and also for cropping edge spaces. The program is able to automatically detect these elements on an image, so the user doesn't have to do anything, just import the scanned image into the program. Imaging Express is compatible with a wide range of image formats. Basically, all the formats generated by a scanning application are compatible with this software.

After having done this, one can zoom in or out and can move to certain parts of the document easily, by using the special tools included in the interface. Besides that, images can be rotated or flipped in any way possible. Images can also be scanned directly from any TWAIN device, saving a lot of time, as the user doesn't need to use a separate application for scanning documents.

After the image has been adjusted, it can be printed using various settings, for obtaining the best possible results. Even though the menu is intuitive, Imaging Express still has a comprehensive help file for allowing the user to fully understand how the software works.

Pros

It supports a wide range of image formats. Besides that, it can directly scan a document and save it as an image file, being compatible with any TWAIN device. Furthermore, it can automatically correct the black borders and white edges of a scanned image. What's more, the image can be printed using various settings, for adjusting its position on paper.

Cons

The interface is too simple and there are few options available. Imaging Express is a tool for correcting and printing scanned documents.
